Windows 7 and PerioPal:
In Windows 7 you will download and install the free XP Mode. PerioPal is then installed in the "XP virtual machine" and a PerioPal icon is placed on the Windows 7 desktop. View Demo
Use the dsktop icon to launch PerioPal in the same way all Windows software is started and stopped. PerioPal can be used with a single PC or in a network manner. Note: We are working on integration to dental systems but it is not yet available in Windows 7 XP Mode. Please check back for Windows 8.
Memory:
Speed and Accuracy! Memory plays a more important role in the performance of speech recognition than for other computer programs. Please verify the amount of memory you have before downloading PerioPal. Keep in mind additional memory can be added to an existing computer system.
Microphone Headset:
The PerioPal-compatible Andrea headset has a 7-foot cord.
A USB extension cord is recommended for more length. Purchase at local electronic stores.
Computers stored in a cabinet or with a back panel USB ports need a USB extension cord.
Desktop Computers and DVD Educational Systems:
Desktop computers need full multi media capability including speakers. Audio playback from PerioPal will not operate from a TV monitor.
DVD Educational Systems and music work in conjunction with PerioPal. Please refer to the User Manual > Audio Settings > Tweeks and Tips for the proper settings.
