Memory:
Speed and Accuracy! Memory plays a more important role in the performance of speech recognition than for other computer programs. Please verify the amount of memory you have or if you computer is equipped with ‘inferior’ memory modules. Many speech recognition problems have been solved by replacing memory. Microphone Headset:
The PerioPal-compatible Andrea headset has a 7-foot cord.
A USB extension cord is recommended for more length.
A USB extension cord is HIGHLY recommended for computers with a back panel USB ports
**Computers stored in a cabinet need USB extension cord.
**Computers stored in a cabinet need ventilation.
Desktop Computers and DVD Educational Systems:
To operate in conjunction with PerioPal, desktop computers need full multi media capability including speakers. Keep in mind that audio playback from PerioPal will not operate from a TV monitor.
Multiple Applications Running:
To keep your system resources high, uninstall programs or downloads that you are no longer using. They may have expired but continue to run behind the scenes.
Regular System Maintenance:
Perform the Service Packs, Scandisk, and Disk Defragmentation before you install the PerioPal software and regularly thereafter.
A small percentage of computers do not function properly with the PerioPal Periodontal Charting System:
Computers that come equipped with their own speech system failed in house certification and are not supported.
**Toshiba Satellite A65 and other Toshiba series that come with Toshiba Speech. Toshiba Speech does not let the user voice train. Please email service@periopal.com for more information.
